Job Description

As an Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems and components that drive BSA’s technology. Responsibilities extend from initial concepting and design, through to testing, integration, and maintenance. This role works as part of Black Sky’s Avionics development team, contributing to the success of Black Sky’s endeavours across its full life

cycle of products.

Key Responsibilities include 

  • Drive the creation and development of cutting-edge electrical systems
  • Collaborate with fellow engineers and team members to integrate electrical systems into BSA’s rockets
  • Develop, and maintain comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, test procedures, and technical reports
  • Guarantee adherence to industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements
  • Conduct thorough electrical calculations, simulations, and testing to assess system performance
  • Troubleshoot electrical engineering challenges, and deliver effective and practical solutions in a dynamic environment

Criteria – Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Expertise in electrical engineering principles, techniques, and technologies
  • Proficiency in using Fusion360 Electrical
  • Design or Altium Designer for circuit capture and printed circuit board (PCB) layout
  • Proficiency in designing and reading electrical schematics
  • Proven experience in transferring PCB assembly designs to manufacturing
  • Experience in embedded systems using C and/or C++ programming languages
  • EMC compliance design awareness and testing process
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety standards
  • Australian Citizenship 
  •  

·       Able to qualify for Australian security clearances

Criteria – Desired

  • 3+ years of proven experience
  • Experience with PCB design, with a strong focus on impedance matching for fast digital circuits, radio frequency (RF) design considerations, and electromagnetic interference
  • Experience working with international standards, such as ISO 9001, AS9100
  • Baseline Security Clearance
