Black Sky Aerospace designs, manufactures, tests, and operates sub-orbital sounding rockets across its Queensland-based facilities and launch ranges. Our technology enabled the first commercial launch in Australia, and we are now expanding our team to scale our operations to new heights. 

Job Description

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of Black Sky projects while remaining aligned with the strategy, commitments and goals of the organization.

Key Responsibilities include 

  • Plan and implement projects
  • Help define project scope, goals and deliverables
  • Define tasks and required resources
  • Collect and manage project teams
  • Allocate project resources
  • Create a project schedule and timeline
  • Support and direct team
  • Lead quality assurance
  • Report on the project status
  • Present to stakeholders reports on progress as well as problems and solutions
  • Implement and manage changes when necessary to meet project deliverables
  • Evaluate and assess the result of the project

Criteria – Required

  • Australian Citizenship 
  • Qualification/s in Project Management, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Problem-solving and leadership skills
  • Project planning, risk management, time management and other project management skills
  • Experience in strategic planning, risk management and/or change management
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools
  • Conflict resolution experience
  • ·       Able to qualify for Australian security clearances

Criteria – Desired

  • Experience in a hardware-focused organization.
  • Experience in an Agile Project Environment
  • Contract negotiation
  • Experience working in an AS9100D quality management system.
  • 5+ years of experience in aerospace, defence or similarly regulated industries
  • Project management qualification (PMP), Certified associate in project management (CAPM), or equivalent experience as a project manage·      
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, startup environment.
  • NV1 Security Clearance eligible (preferred).
